“Commencement is the culmination of students' achievements, and a touchstone moment for families who have worked hard to ensure their children have the tools they need to succeed,” said Governor Brown. ＂I'll be sharing my personal story, and how my time at CU set me on a path toward and prepared me for public service. I'll also talk about the national political and social landscapes, and how they are different from my undergrad years.
＂For example, we've taken a step backward for our immigrant communities, specifically our Dreamers, who face enormous uncertainties. Some of them are students graduating at CU, and their success is proof that they are an integral part of our communities, our culture, and our economy.＂
“We are so fortunate to have Governor Brown come and speak to us on our commencement day. Her wisdom about courage, integrity and authenticity will inspire and challenge graduating Buffs to effect positive change in the world after leaving CU,” said Emily Miller, Senior Class Council president.
